John Crongeyer, MD, JD

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. John Crongeyer is a physician, attorney and entrepreneur who brings a unique leadership and vision to ModusOne Health. He is one of the company’s founders and has served as CEO since its inception. Prior to that, he served as chief legal counsel and director of strategic growth for the company’s predecessor.

Crongeyer’s unique perspective comes from his experience within all sides of the health care industry — the hospital, the boardroom and the courtroom. His work has been cited in the media — including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Atlanta Business Chronicle, ABC Primetime and Good Morning America.

Jaime Wise, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jaime Wise is a board-certified family physician, a certified wound specialist, and holds a Master of Business Administration. She has spent many years in medical leadership, most recently with the largest wound care company in the nation as the Director of Physician Education and Regional Medical Director. Through her roles, she has educated and mentored thousands of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants on multiple aspects of medical practice and career development. She has lectured across the country and is published in medical journals, most recently authoring a chapter in a healthcare textbook.

Jaime has a passion for quality through continuous process improvement, education, and operational excellence.

Kenji Asakura, MD

Medical and Strategic Advisor

Dr. Kenji Asakura is a board-certified internal medicine physician. He served as founder and president of the predecessor company of ModusOne Health.

Asakura has long been interested in exploring the intersection of health care and business. Earlier in his career, he was involved in running several health-related start-ups and also worked as a hospital operations consultant at McKinsey & Company. Asakura continues to practice as a hospitalist and finds this integral to the success of “on the ground” hospital implementations.

Letizia Alto, MD

Medical and Strategic Advisor

Dr. Letizia Alto is a board-certified family medicine physician who is trained in hospitalist medicine. Prior to joining ModusOne, she served as both a hospitalist and locum tenens faculty member of a family medicine residency program.

Alto has received special recognition for her teaching both at the residency and faculty levels. With her enthusiasm for adult education and medicine, she fueled the creation of the ModusOne physician-training tools and online platform. She continues to work as a hospitalist to maintain her connection with the day-to-day practice of medicine.

Shane Sparks, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Shane Sparks is a Certified Public Accountant and entrepreneur accomplished in engaging teams to drive growth, quality, and customer satisfaction. Shane brings a wealth of financial and analytical expertise to ModusOne Health combined with a passion for utilizing technology to more effectively achieve goals.

Focused on results through teamwork, and as a skilled educator, Sparks is a natural fit on the ModusOne Health team. Previously, he contributed to the success of KCC International and Churchill Downs Inc., after co-founding an automotive franchise. Shane also enjoys teaching courses organized by the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jason Astrin, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, DFAAPA

Vice President of Clinical Affairs

Jason Astrin’s background in the health sciences, combined with his business training, lends the right mix of business and health care to running Clinical Affairs at ModusOne Health. He also has substantial clinical experience as a PA, working with physicians in variety of settings, including cardiology and internal medicine.

Earlier in his career, Astrin’s work in the payer claims area gave him a broad perspective of both sides of the diagnosis/documentation arena. He is a tremendous resource in helping ModusOne’s clients achieve optimal CDxI and CDI results.

Devon Jackoniski, PA-C

Director of Clinical Affairs

Devon Jackoniski has practiced as a PA for 18 years with a focus in orthopedic surgery. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jackoniski’s experience extends beyond clinical practice. She has served as the marketing strategist with Georgia Associate of Physician Assistants, an educator for Sanofi-Synthelabo, and currently, she is working to initiate multiple trial studies. Prior to joining ModusOne, Jackoniski worked to bridge relationships between physicians, physician extenders, researchers, and vendors while launching an ever-expanding regenerative medicine division at a highly successful orthopedic practice.

Jackoniski is passionate about patient care and has a keen interest in education. This, along with her focus, attention to detail, desire for professional growth, and compassion for others, make her an integral part of the ModusOne Team.

Paul Karem

Customer Service Advisor

Paul Karem provides balance and vision to ModusOne Health’s clinical resources and serves as a vital liaison to our clients and prospects. During his career, he has founded and managed several businesses. Karem has been involved in the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) industry for a number of years. His focus has always been on “people first,” which fueled his drive to become a customer service expert.

Karem is the author of Above The Fray, an exposé on America’s customer service disaster and the antidote to it. As a noted author and speaker, he gives motivational talks on customer service to audiences such as food service companies, national trade associations, banks, educational institutions (e.g., Georgia Tech) and health care systems.

Rajani Davangere

Reporting Manager

Rajani Davangere is the reporting manager for ModusOne Health. She has many years of experience in Community, Public Health Research, Public Health Policy, Environmental Health, Safety and Infection Control. Her medical background and analytical nature make her a critical manager of our process of chart review and data analysis.

Prior to joining ModusOne, Davangere served at Fulton County’s Health Department and also as a Morehouse School of Medicine graduate research assistant. She has been heavily involved in the women’s health coalition on cervical and colorectal cancer research. She also served as a dentist in rural communities in India earlier in her career where she was actively involved in clinical trials pertaining to public health and dental health.

Lam Cao

Business Intelligence Analyst

Lam Cao has over ten years of experience working as an economist for the Department of Commerce. During his tenure, he has published in the "Survey of Current Business," optimized workflow in data collection, and received two bronze Medal awards for his work. Cao has worked as a business intelligence engineer for Humana, ensuring compliance and meeting service level agreements (SLA). Cao has a passion for data analytics and using technology to transform business processes.
