Crongeyer blends law, medicine, business

Lots of people dream of being a doctor, lawyer or successful business person. John Crongeyer became all three.
Crongeyer is the co-founder and CEO of Atlanta-based ModusOne Health, a clinical diagnosis improvement company. It’s a platform that helps doctors navigate the complicated world of ICD-10, the World Health Organization’s endlessly complicated medical classification list that went into effect in October 2015. ICD-10 has over 68,000 codes to its predecessor’s 13,000, and includes entries like “pecked by a chicken,” “struck by orca” and “hurt at the opera.”
Research suggests that physicians miss as many as 50 percent of serious hospital conditions, an enormous problem ModusOne is looking to solve through its gamification-style app that helps physicians decode the new system and improve their clinical documentation.
